For many of us summer time means attending endless weddings and family functions. It can be exhausting and it is really hard to put your health first at such occasions. Most of our time is spent on travelling, there are not so healthy buffet options and not to mention too much sun! Let’s be honest, no one wants to hit the gym during a vacation and surely no one wants to refuse a chance of having those yummy cheesy nachos.
But to help you stay on track I have few tips and tricks that you can incorporate which will make your life easy.

If your friend is having an outdoor wedding it is absolutely essential that you carry a (preferably travel size) Sun screen lotion with you (SPF 30 atleast) in your clutch. Apply it 20 minutes before the ceremony for it to work its magic. You definitely do not want a nasty sunburn with the cute wedding outfit now do you ?

I don’t know about you, but summer time gives me major anxiety when it comes to styling my hair! Keeping your hair down wouldn’t exactly be a smart choice at such occasions if you have to stand in the ceremony for the whole afternoon. Style your hair in a manner that it is off your neck (that is the problem area) and make sure it is not falling too much on your face. You can get creative with lots of ponytail and hair updo hairstyles and remember to wash your hair at least twice a week in summer to keep your scalp clean and healthy.

Stay hydrated! Yes, this is a classic advice that one can give in the heat. Make sure you drink plenty of water, as the heat & humidity at summer weddings can lead to dehydration. Carry a small portable water bottle and drink a glass of water every 45 minutes. It can also help avoid heat exhaustion.

After a busy ceremony, you will find yourself setting your eyes at the first appetizer dish that comes along your way. Please pack a bag of things like almonds, granola, and apples in your clutch which are travel friendly and are easy to store since they do not require a fridge.

Grab a few healthy proteins like grilled chicken skewers or grilled fish & shrimp platter. They will make sure your tummy is filled so that you avoid diving into the main course which is going to be filled with calories.

One of the major things one can’t resist at a wedding is free open bar and cocktail hour. Now now, I am not saying that you should be completely sober and refrain from having little fun but all I am saying is have a plan. Mixed sugar drinks are loaded with not so natural and unwanted sugars which indirectly affect your skin (especially under the eyes) and make you look tired. Sip on some healthier alternatives like lemonade, smoothies, iced tea with a little hint of vodka!
In a nutshell, it is not easy saying no to those sugar treats and cheesy dishes but every small accomplishment is a step towards building a happy & healthy lifestyle.

#1 Carry a Sunblock lotion (SPF30)

#2 Style your hair up

I don’t know about you, but summer time gives me major anxiety when it comes to styling my hair! Keeping your hair down wouldn’t exactly be a smart choice at such occasions if you have to stand in the ceremony for the whole afternoon. Style your hair in a manner that it is off your neck (that is the problem area) and make sure it is not falling too much on your face. #3 Drink plenty of water

#4 Pack a healthy snack

After a busy ceremony, you will find yourself setting your eyes at the first appetizer dish that comes along your way. Please pack a bag of things like almonds, granola, and apples in your clutch which are travel friendly and are easy to store since they do not require a fridge.
#5 Binge on proteins

Grab a few healthy proteins like grilled chicken skewers or grilled fish & shrimp platter. They will make sure your tummy is filled so that you avoid diving into the main course which is going to be filled with calories.
#6 Say NO to Sugary drinks!

One of the major things one can’t resist at a wedding is free open bar and cocktail hour. Now now, I am not saying that you should be completely sober and refrain from having little fun but all I am saying is have a plan.
